About

Hello, my name is Kiyomi Okawa. I am a licensed acupuncturist (L.Ac) and East Asian Medical Practitioner (EAMP). I am board certified as a diplomate of acupuncture by the National Certified Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). I am also certified with the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA). I trained at the Seattle Institute of Oriental Medicine (SIOM), where I got my Masters in acupuncture. There I learned various techniques from distinguished Masters, with whom I apprenticed. I offer my patients treatments that are tailored to their unique bodies, minds and spirits.

The name, Big River Healing, comes from my last name, 大川 [Okawa], which means Big River. When a river flows with a sufficient amount of water, then the entire ecosystem thrives. When our Qi [CHē], our circulating vital energy, flows well, our body, mind and soul are happy just like a healthy river.

I grew up in Japan, where the mountains were a part of my life. I enjoy the outdoors, especially hiking and skiing in the mountains, camping, and kayaking. I also enjoy food and cooking.

Our health arises from inside us and is based on our everyday lifestyle. I can assist you with a treatment that will keep your body, mind and spirit well-balanced by regulating the flow of Qi and Blood.
